1788 Count of shipowners from Koenigsbrueck founded in Berne Village, the " iron works" with an iron hammer and a melting furnace for smelting of bog iron from the environment.
1990 Foundation of Foundry Engineering GmbH, based in Bern village , with the following production program :

Wir schweißen und beeinflussen Konstruktionen in der ganzen Vielfalt der Werkstoffwelt, wie warmfeste Stähle (C 22.8, 13CrMo44, 10CrMo910, P91,...)

• Austenitische Stähle und Duplexstähle ( 1.4571, 1.4462,...)

Wir härten die Randschicht von Stählen mit einem Kohlenstoffgehalt >= 0,3%. Elektronenstrahlhärten mit einer Eindringtiefe in die Oberfläche von 0,3 bis 1,5 mm. Härten von ca. 60 HRC je nach Werkstoff. Wir benötigen keine Abschreckmittel. Die Abschreckung funktioniert durch den Temperaturunterschied zwischen der mit dem Elektronenstrahl beaufschlagten Oberfläche und dem dahinter liegenden Material. Materialien wie
