主要部件包括精煉室、轉子、轉子密封裝置、進料壓榨裝置、卸料裝置、傳動裝置和機座。工作時，兩個轉子相對旋轉，物料將被夾緊並帶入輥隙中，通過轉子的擠壓和剪切，通過輥隙，在遇到下部螺栓頂部後分為兩部分，分別沿著前後室壁和轉子之間的間隙再回到輥隙頂部。在周繞轉子流動時，物料處處受到剪切和摩擦，使膠料溫度急劇升高，粘度降低，增加了膠料在配合劑表麵的潤濕性
